Yes! We remove all dairy and animal products throughout the cleanse. This cleanse is also gluten free.

We would love for everyone to be a part of Fresh Start , but we understand that it’s not for everyone. Since we are not doctors or nutritionists, please check out the two free samples of the Spring and Autumn editions. This will give you a better idea of the whole, natural foods that are included in our recipes. By consulting your healthcare provider, they will know what’s best for you, personally.

Pregnancy is not the ideal time to start a cleanse. Although our cleanses are nutrient rich and nutritionally balanced, they are also detoxifying. Toxins released during these cleanses can pass through to your bloodstream and breast milk. Instead, focus on nourishing your body and your baby. Feel free to include green smoothies and other recipes as part of your normal daily diet. The same principles apply if you’re breastfeeding. Many expecting and nursing moms still join the cleanse for the meal plan and have found success by skipping week two (the most detoxifying week) and following the meal plan in week one and three, which include gluten-free grains, legumes, and an option to add eggs and fish.

Anyone who is ready to start making healthy eating a part of their lifestyle and not just a diet. Taking the burden off the liver for a few weeks and plying yourself with real, nutrient-rich goodness will take you from healthy to amazing! Our resident holistic nutritionist, Meg Thompson, recommends making cleansing a regular part of your health care regime several times a year to renew, recharge and reset the body. Your body will love you for it!

Our meals are nutrient-rich and therefore give back to the body, and will balance your blood sugar, keeping your energy at a steady flow. Rather than focus on calories, It’s much more important to focus on having good quality protein, healthy fats and loads of vegetables and fruit to get all the goodness that you need.

Calories are deceiving and not the basis for determining what is healthy. For example, if something is low in calories, it’s not necessarily good for you. In fact, it’s often the opposite. Food that is low in calories, like a piece of white bread, is not only void of nutrients, it saps extra nutrients from your body to process it. It also turns to sugar once it’s digested which then contributes to weight gain. Change it to a wholegrain bread and add some avocado or nut butter, and suddenly you have something much higher in calories, but a slow burning fuel that will continue to serve your body for hours.

These programs and step-by-step meal plans were designed to help you create health and happiness on your plate. That’s why we’re super excited to partner with Meg Thompson, an amazing naturopath and holistic nutritionist, and Lindsey Johnson, a food photographer and recipe creator, for these 21-Day Cleanses geared to help make simple, quick and nutritious meals for you. These recipes will seriously rock your tastebuds!

Your grocery bill will likely be higher than usual, but please … don’t freak out! You’re investing in your health… and you’re worth it! Here’s how we think about it: you can either pay more upfront for fresh produce and real whole foods, or pay down the road in poor health with medical bills. It’s an easy choice once we lay it out like that, right? So don’t give yourself a hard time over a slightly higher grocery bill. And what we’ve noticed is it eventually balances out by week two after you’ve bought all your staple ingredients that you’ll use during and beyond the cleanse.

I’m a busy, work-from-home mama myself, so I totally get it. If you’re not used to cooking meals from home, you’ll need to carve out some time over the weekend to prep. It does take an extra time commitment— I’m not gonna lie. With our meal plans and weekly shopping lists, we take the guesswork out of “What’s for dinner?” We recommend starting the Spring or Autumn cleanse when you don’t have too many major events going on back-to-back, especially during week one. You’ll want to have time in your week to rest and nourish your body.

You will eat + drink your way through the 21 days! Both of these Fresh Start plans are complete cleanse guides with a step-by-step meal plans, that include green smoothies for breakfast, and whole foods the rest of the day (including snacks and cleanse-friendly beverage recipes).

Weight loss does not happen in the same way for everyone. It’s dependent on an individual’s genetics, hormonal balance, past history, metabolism, fluid balance and exercise regime. Weight can also be tied up in emotions. It’s a complex one. Remember that this program is about a fresh start for your body – you’re working towards the best version of you possible, and that’s about much more than weight loss.     The past 21 days, I’ve been doing this cleanse hoping to lose weight and slim down before I go on my trip to China. My goal was to lose 5 lbs, but in the ended up losing 8.6 lbs. Doing the cleanse also taught me the importance of quality over quantity of calories. I was consuming way more calories than I normally do, so naturally I was worried. But it turns out, all the good fats and other quality nutrients helped lose me weight and slim down. All the food was really good too. I was skeptical about paying for information, but it really is the FB support group that kept me motivated. I wouldn’t have stuck with he program if not for all the other Rawkers. It’s been a great experience and I’m happy that I can finally fit into a tiny T-shirt that a friend got for me. I’m also lighter than I’ve ever been in over 15 years. Thank you so much for the awesome cleanse!

    THE FRESH START 21 DAY CLEANSE was just what I needed to reset my mind, body and soul! My emailed invitation to join the group came at the perfect time. I was eating way too much sugar, drinking too many cups of coffee and noticing the pounds adding up. I wanted a challenge but being part of the group and doing it together, made it so much easier. This program has all of the shopping lists, detailed prep work and beautiful pictures of the easy-to-follow recipes to help you succeed. My sugar/caffeine cravings soon went away once my body realized that I was feeding it clean, whole foods that were healthy and filling. My husband even noticed that I was happier, thinner and that my skin was softer. The habits and recipes are now part of my life, no need to go back to my old ways. A plant based diet is here to stay.     I’ve honestly been following SGS for quite a while and every time an invitation to participate in a cleanse, I’ve always said, “next time” or “it’s too expensive”. However, this time was different. I took the plunge, and dragged my mother along for the fun! I’m not going to lie, at first it was difficult; looking for specific ingredients, produce, prepping etc. but being apart of the community, getting/sharing ideas and the journey made it a lot easier. We came out of this journey with new energy, clearer skin and a new found love for food. Now that the cleanse is over, I am definitely keeping and adding the recipes to my daily cooking. Adding and creating more snacks and the smoothies are definitely here to stay! Thank you for recipes, the book and for creating the support group. Not only that but thank you for sharing your journey and your passion to spreading the love of healthy eating and making it to a lifestyle for many.

    I have been a Simple Green Smoothies fan for more than four years, and I attempted my first cleanse three years ago, but even though the food was excellent, I didn’t stick with it all the way through. This fall (2017) I finally did it–and sticking with it the whole way through is key! I have way more energy, I feel better than I have IN YEARS, my skin looks great and I’ve lost 15.3 pounds (that’s a testament to how poorly I was eating before!). You get through the detox phase, turn the corner into feeling good and then by the end, you are actually craving fresh vegetables and fruit. This is the start of something new for me, a profound lifestyle change that I know I can do and I know makes me feel amazing.

    I have been a Simple Green Smoothies fan for quite some time. Over a year ago I started to make green smoothies for breakfast for my family and me and we all love it! Of course it is sooo easy that your mom makes your breakfast every day (I have two teenage daughters), but I have less worries about their eating habits as they start their day with greens and fruit. In April I tried the Spring cleanse to see if this would have any effect on my skin as I have eczema and if I could do without my sweets (I love chocolate and cookies!) and it did! At first it took some adjusting as shopping, planning and prepping take quite some time, but it helps you to make healthy choices and still eat really tasty diners and snacks. Since that cleanse I eat vegetarian on a full time basis and try to minimize dairy, but being a Dutch girl, with all that great cheese everywhere, the latter is not always easy. I also have trouble staying away from chocolate and cookies. Enough reasons to join the Autumn cleanse as well and because of the Facebook community, the recipes and the way my first cleanse made me feel. Again this was a great experience. My skin does better, I tried great new recipes and was part of an inspiring Facebook community. As I eat pretty healthy at the moment and have new guidelines to make healthy choices, I think I can also enjoy my sweets now and then.

    21 day to have a fresh kick start. 21 day to develop new better eating and living habits.
    I stepped on this path, searching what’s right for my body and my soul, a few months ago. But the amount of information is so overwhelming I felt I needed some help and guidance. That’s why I signed up for FRESH START: A 21-DAY CLEANSE and it turned out such a helpful and encouraging experience! I have never felt the way I feel now after cleanse. Energetic and fresh without caffeine, light without cutting down calories, stronger without doing extra exercises. It took my healthy habits to the whole new level. Now I have a deeper understanding of my body’s needs and reactions, can cook various healthy and delicious whole food meals and can harmoniously live in “eat healthy” mode. It was hard in the beginning but by the end of the cleanse I felt so confortable in it, I nearly forgot I’m on it at all.

    This was a fantastic program and I can’t wait to sign up for the Spring Fresh Start! I needed to go GF and was putting it off, so this was the perfect way to do it. Initially, I thought the price was a little high, but now that I have completed it and have a ton of new favorite recipes that are super delicious, it was totally worth it!! The fb support group and the people in it was also great. You could get questions answered and get lots and lots of support and a few good laughs. I have done a different cleanse before, and this was much more enjoyable. Thank you for this program and the beautiful book!

    THE FRESH START 21 DAY CLEANSE was just what I needed to reset my mind, body and soul! My emailed invitation to join the group came at the perfect time. I was eating way too much sugar, drinking too many cups of coffee and noticing the pounds adding up. I wanted a challenge but being part of the group and doing it together, made it so much easier. This program has all of the shopping lists, detailed prep work and beautiful pictures of the easy-to-follow recipes to help you succeed. My sugar/caffeine cravings soon went away once my body realized that I was feeding it clean, whole foods that were healthy and filling. My husband even noticed that I was happier, thinner and that my skin was softer. The habits and recipes are now part of my life, no need to go back to my old ways. A plant based diet is here to stay. I just turned 50 this year, and this is the best gift anyone could have given me. It’s never too late to treat your body with the goodness of whole foods it deserves. Thanks Jen and the Rawstar Team.     I’ve honestly been following SGS for quite a while and every time an invitation to participate in a cleanse, I’ve always said, “next time” or “it’s too expensive”. However, this time was different. I took the plunge, and dragged my mother along for the fun! I’m not going to lie, at first it was difficult; looking for specific ingredients, produce, prepping etc. but being apart of the community, getting/sharing ideas and the journey made it a lot easier. We came out of this journey with new energy, clearer skin and a new found love for food. Now that the cleanse is over, I am definitely keeping and adding the recipes to my daily cooking. Adding and creating more snacks and the smoothies are definitely here to stay! Thank you for recipes, the book and for creating the support group. Not only that but thank you for sharing your journey and your passion to spreading the love of healthy eating and making it to a lifestyle for many.

    I have been a Simple Green Smoothies fan for more than four years, and I attempted my first cleanse three years ago, but even though the food was excellent, I didn’t stick with it all the way through. This fall (2017) I finally did it–and sticking with it the whole way through is key! I have way more energy, I feel better than I have IN YEARS, my skin looks great and I’ve lost 15.3 pounds (that’s a testament to how poorly I was eating before!). You get through the detox phase, turn the corner into feeling good and then by the end, you are actually craving fresh vegetables and fruit. This is the start of something new for me, a profound lifestyle change that I know I can do and I know makes me feel amazing.

    I ordered the 21 day cleanse on October 22. As of November 16 I had not received it. I called and left a message on November 13 and they have not called back. Is this a legitimate business or what?

    I have been a Simple Green Smoothies fan for quite some time. Over a year ago I started to make green smoothies for breakfast for my family and me and we all love it! Of course it is sooo easy that your mom makes your breakfast every day (I have two teenage daughters), but I have less worries about their eating habits as they start their day with greens and fruit. In April I tried the Spring cleanse to see if this would have any effect on my skin as I have eczema and if I could do without my sweets (I love chocolate and cookies!) and it did! At first it took some adjusting as shopping, planning and prepping take quite some time, but it helps you to make healthy choices and still eat really tasty diners and snacks. Since that cleanse I eat vegetarian on a full time basis and try to minimize dairy, but being a Dutch girl, with all that great cheese everywhere, the latter is not always easy. I also have trouble staying away from chocolate and cookies. Enough reasons to join the Autumn cleanse as well and because of the Facebook community, the recipes and the way my first cleanse made me feel. Again this was a great experience. My skin does better, I tried great new recipes and was part of an inspiring Facebook community. As I eat pretty healthy at the moment and have new guidelines to make healthy choices, I think I can also enjoy my sweets now and then.

    21 day to have a fresh kick start. 21 day to develop new better eating and living habits.
    I stepped on this path, searching what’s right for my body and my soul, a few months ago. But the amount of information is so overwhelming I felt I needed some help and guidance. That’s why I signed up for FRESH START: A 21-DAY CLEANSE and it turned out such a helpful and encouraging experience! I have never felt the way I feel now after cleanse. Energetic and fresh without caffeine, light without cutting down calories, stronger without doing extra exercises. It took my healthy habits to the whole new level. Now I have a deeper understanding of my body’s needs and reactions, can cook various healthy and delicious whole food meals and can harmoniously live in “eat healthy” mode. It was hard in the beginning but by the end of the cleanse I felt so confortable in it, I nearly forgot I’m on it at all.
    And of course I must mention how supportive is the community that Jen and the Rawkstars create to help you through the clease. Thank you guys so much! Can’t wait for spring to join you again!

    This was a fantastic program and I can’t wait to sign up for the Spring Fresh Start! I needed to go GF and was putting it off, so this was the perfect way to do it. Initially, I thought the price was a little high, but now that I have completed it and have a ton of new favorite recipes that are super delicious, it was totally worth it!! The fb support group and the people in it was also great. You could get questions answered and get lots and lots of support and a few good laughs. I have done a different cleanse before, and this was much more enjoyable. Thank you for this program and the beautiful book!
